Photos need to be *.jpg, *.gif, or *.png format. If you have photos in another format, they will have to be converted to one of these before they can be uploaded. Most cameras and cell phones provide photos as *.jpg. You can use an image editing tool such as iPhoto or Photoshop or visit an online photo converter like http://image.online-convert.com/ to change the photo into a format that can be uploaded.
Be aware that lower-end cell phone cameras don't take the best pictures. You may want to use a digital camera to get a higher quality photograph. Also, don't be afraid to take advantage of some of the capabilities available in image editing tools. It may help to select a smaller portion of your photo, remove “red eye”, or to enhance the image.
